Center Parcs in the UK are very popular and rightly so, however they can be very expensive or in areas that you have already explored. It is well worth exploring the various bungalow parks available on the continent. They are usually also a lot cheaper than Center Parcs in the UK and the facilities are usually just as good if not better. Whenever I have checked prices, the Continental parks all seem to offer a stay of a week for about the same price as a weekend at Center Parcs UK. There are 3 main bungalow park operators on the continent and they are.
Center Parcs, which is a separate company to the UK one, but standards are similar. They have 6 parks in The Netherlands, 4 in France and 2 each in Belgium and Germany.
Sun Parks, which is a sister company to Center Parcs, but which are usually not quite as luxurious, but still offer very good value. They have 10 locations in France, 4 in Belgium, 3 in The Netherlands and 2 in Germany.
Landal this is a slightly different proposal to Center Parcs and Sun Parks as they generally have less facilities and do not have as many activities on site. Instead they offer bungalows in a natural quiet, environment. These are probably more for couples, families with older children, or groups of friends. They have 50 locations in The Netherlands, 9 in Germany, 6 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 2 in Switserland and 1 in the Czech Republic.
Most of these bungalow parks are easily accessible from the UK through the numerous ferry routes to the continent.
Stena Line offer ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland
P&O ferries offer services from Dover to Calais and from Hull to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.
DFDS offer services from Newcastle to Amsterdam
Norfolkline offers services from Edinburgh to Zeebrugge and from Dover to Dunkirk
Seafrance have services from Dover to Calais
LD Lines offer services from Dover to Boulogne and from Ramsgate to Ostend
I would heartily recommend choosing a continental bungalow park for your next family holiday.
